Choose a Surface After the Deck Layout Makes Sense
Composite decking is a manufactured board made with plastics and organic material such as wood fiber. It can save you the routine sanding, staining and sealing of traditional wood, but it still needs cleaning. We look at colors outside beside your siding and railing rather than ask you to decide from a small sample indoors. Darker boards can feel warmer in afternoon sun, which matters if the deck is where you walk barefoot or spend time with the kids.
We also look at where snow, ice and meltwater would go on your deck. Any outdoor surface can get slippery in winter. The gaps between boards, the path for runoff and the space you need to clear debris all belong in the design. We will go through care instructions for the exact product, not promise a deck you never have to maintain.
Trex and TimberTech give us composite options to compare by finish, board profile, installation details and cost for the complete deck. We check the collection and availability before naming a product in your estimate. TimberTech sells PVC as well, but PVC is a different material without the wood filler found in many composites. If that distinction matters to you, we can compare both instead of treating the brands or board types as interchangeable.
